Chanda's Story

Professional Background

Chanda brings over 14 years of banking experience, along with decades of hands-on nonprofit leadership, civic engagement, and community advocacy. Her professional background allows her to bridge the gap between mission and money—a critical skill for nonprofit founders, leaders, and organizations seeking long-term sustainability.

In addition to her nonprofit and consulting work, Chanda McGuffin-Tucker previously served as Chair of Black Virginians for Winsome during Mrs. Sears’s gubernatorial campaign, where she provided strategic leadership, deep community insight, and trusted counsel at the state level. She continues to serve as a confidant and advisor as Lieutenant Governor Earle-Sears pursues her next endeavors, reflecting a longstanding relationship grounded in trust, integrity, and a shared commitment to public service.

Chanda will also serve as Co-Chair of the Winsome Ever Forward PAC, acting in the capacity of the Lieutenant Governor’s personal assistant, with responsibilities spanning administrative support, scheduling, event planning, and fundraising. She will work alongside the PAC’s primary contact, who will oversee clergy engagement, party engagement, Richmond relations, and fundraising efforts.

Chanda is the CFO and co-founder of RISE, a social justice organization established to give voice and hope back to the Black community. Although RISE operates as a separate entity, the experience of building and sustaining the organization acts as a conduit for the nonprofit training and consulting services provided by Chanda’s House.
